In this time of uncertainty, I’ve wanted to reaffirm the values that make up who I am.
My true north:
It is my desire to: serve my future patients with my knowledge of medicine and Khmer, shed light on how to address health disparities through research, and appreciate the everyday things along the journey.
Things may not always go according to plan, but I’m thankful that I can always look for my true north to make sure I’m going the right direction.
In the next 5 weeks (for now) until I begin my rotations, I’ll be trying to:
- Read “Beyond Colorblind” and reflecting on my implicit bias in my interactions/passivity among people with different backgrounds than mine.
- Learn R for Data Analysis
- Teach my parents common medical topics via Zoom
2020 has given me plenty of lemons, but I’m kind of tired of making lemonade.
